NEW CLUB PREMISES - UPDATED

One very important topic for the CARS club meeting on Wednesday 7th October will be to decide if we are going to take up the offer from the Castletown Heritage Society of space in their building at Castlehill Harbour in Castletown. This may be your last chance to let your views be known, we'd liike to know what you think. If you can't attend on Wednesday, please email your views to Jim GM4EFR (for or against) and he'll make sure they are aired at the meeting.

What is on offer is space in the store room at Castlehill (part of the main centre building), approximately big enough for a double-wardrobe size cupboard, with a seating area around it, and permission to erect 'low visibility' antenna's. This will give secure, central, storage for club equipment and allow us to set up a permanent club station, although restricted to a relatively small operating volume (as someone who uses a 600mm wide kitchen larder unit himself, I don't see that as a big problem!). We will also have access to tea/coffee making facilities.
The cost will be ABOUT £20 annual rental, plus £5 per evening used. (An important part of Wednesday's discussion will be about sourcing this money, current thinking is that the £20 could come from club funds, and the evening fee from those attending - perhaps £1-£2 per person, excess going towards club equipment???)

The photograph shows our Treasurer (GM1BAN) standing in the area in question, and looking very happy about it!

Another important topic is to decide whether the Nethercliff monthly meetings are to continue (current consensus is yes) and the frequency (pardon the pun) and nature of use of the Castlehill station.

SO FAR, NOTHING HAS BEEN DECIDED - NOW'S YOUR CHANCE TO BE HEARD!

For more information on the Castletown Heritage Society and more photographs of the centre please see www.castletownheritage.co.uk , or visit on Wednesday, Saturday or Sunday, 2-4 pm.
