ROB MANNION G3XFD, EDITOR OF PRACTICAL WIRELESS MAGAZINE VISTED CRAY VALLEY RS AND GAVE AN INSIGHT ON HIS FASCINATING LIFE!

13 Jul 2008

Rob Mannion, G3XFD/EI5IW; the editor of Practical Wireless magazine gave the members of Cray Valley Radio Society an overview of his fascinating life - a life full of achievement!
From being born at Tavistock North railway station, surviving the aircrash of a RNAS Gannett whilst in service, obtaining his medical degree, running the 'surplus' London Underground trains that make up the Isle of Wight Railway right up to his current role of editor of Practical Wireless - the members were treated to details of a lifetime of achievement and fortitude!

A fuller article will be published in QUA. Look for it - everything from poaching by railway engine drivers to eating Sea Urchin Gonads pickled in Saki - it's all part of Rob's life somewhere!
