FARS is based in the Furness peninsula in the south of Cumbria. Furness includes the shipbuilding town of Barrow-in-Furness, Ulverston the birthplace of comedian Stan Laurel and Sir John Barrow the famous explorer and founder of the Royal Geographical Society. We also have members on the Isles of Walney and Man.
