The Huntingdonshire Amateur Radio Society (HARS) was formed in the mid 1980s and amalgamated with the local repeater group for GB3OV meeting in local pubs and later in 1988 at the Medway Centre in Huntingdon. From June 2011 we were fortunate to be offerred the Hemingford Abbotts Golf Club where we were able to erect antennas.
Newcomers will find a warm, friendly and informal atmosphere with a bar for those who wish to imbibe but please remember the drive home. Currently HARS have about fifty members, including ladies, with wide interests in amateur radio including an active CW training and appreciation group.
There is a daily net hosted by Dave, G7DIU, on GB3OV (433.125 MHz 94.8 Hz CTCSS) at 10.00am (10.30am on Sunday to allow for local RSGB News broadcast at 10.00am). All are welcome to join in.
Every Tuesday, Dougie 2E1IGI hosts a net on 70.400 MHz at 20.00 (8pm) local for a 'general rag chew'. If you have a 4 mtr rig you will be most welcome to join in.
There is also a net on 145.350MHz FM at 8pm on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Thursday of the month run by Gerald G8AKL. If you can hear us then please join in.
