ROSE & CROWN RADIO CLUB AND BARNSLEY AND DARC
AFFILIATED TO THE RSGB AND RAFARS.

Earlier this year the rose and crown radio club (M0DRM) amalgamated with the Barnsley and district amateur radio club (G6AJ).

Grant Application Success. On 21st June 2006, after several months of paper work emails and phone calls we received our grant from South Yorkshire Community Foundation, in association with the local network fund for children and young people.
We received a grant of £7,000 which we have used to purchase equipment. The grant is to help promote education, social inclusion of the able bodied, disabled, children, young people and their families giving them increased confidence, motivation, improved communication skills, reading and handwriting skills through the medium of amateur radio, and gaining a nationally recognised qualification. The equipment purchased will be used to teach and train young people, and to promote the hobby at public events, and try and encourage other people to take up the hobby. Our first call was to P.C.World, Business Advisor Chris Turner, he checked and assembled our order, and offered helpful advice, (and with our business account gave us favourable terms) He proved very knowledgeable, friendly and we will certainly use them again. Well done P.C.World. Next port of call was our local reputable amateur radio dealer LAM Communications. We travelled 6 miles and found the shop with no problems, and had a great time picking our order Many thanks to Lee the number 1 amateur dealer in the North for his great service, and not forgetting Claire his wife(congratulations on the birth of your daughter )We will be continuing our successful relationship with LAM Communications.

Its great to have the clubs own equipment now. we can operate from 160 mtrs thro to 70 cms and above well done to all those involved. PS: not forgetting the portable masts, drums of cable, etc...
