The Meirion Amateur Radio Society was formed in 1979 to promote amateur radio in the area around Dolgellau, and in May 1980 obtained a full A class licence GW4LZP, this callsign has now been updated to GC4LZP and is held on behalf of the club by GW0AYQ.
Our member Bob Smith GW0AYQ is qualified to instruct for the Foundation , Intermediate and Advanced Licence Courses and awaits candidates to come forward. The club have an approved test centre for all three licences and exams can be booked at certain time throughout the year. To book an exam please contact Bob Smith for details.
We have a reciprical arrangement with the nearby Porthmadog & District Amateur Radio Society, whereby their members may attend our meetings with out becoming members of the Meirion A.R.S.
Our monthly meetings are held at The Royal Ship Hotel Dolgellau, visitors and new members are always welcome.
Meetings normaly held on the first Thursday of the month at 19.30 hours, except January when it is the second Thursday.
