About our club

Background

The Newbury and District Amateur Radio Society (NADARS) has been in existence for over 50 years.
The Call Sign of the Society is G5XV.
The main website can be found at:

www.nadars.org.uk

We hold meetings on the fourth Wednesday of the month at the Trevellers Friend Public House, Crookham Common, Thatcham, Berks RG19 8EA at 7.30pm, local time.

At these meetings there is usually a radio related lecture.

We hold many other social and radio related events. These include bi-monthly courses to enable members of the public to become radio amateurs. We hold two day "Foundation Licence" courses which train a person how to operate an amateur radio station safely. After the course we hold a basic examination. To date we have a 98% success rate with this course.

We also hold an annual Car Boot Sale / Radio Rally in June at the Newbury Showground where many Radio and Computing bargains may be found. This attracts visitors from all over the country.

Meeting times

We hold meetings on the fourth Wednesday at 19:30.
