About our club

Background

Our club members meet on one weekday evening after the Centre closes to learn about Satellites, and Satellite operating.

They also operate our Public demonstration Station and we hope to increase the frequency of our demonstrations as more of our members become trained for this task.

There are also arrangements for hosted visits by local Amateur Radio Clubs to the National Space Centre.

We have the latest modern equipped radio station at the Space Centre, which offers UHF, VHF and HF
Operating facilities.

Our equipment includes the latest type of rotators/aerials and automatic Doppler shift correction for our transceivers.

We use the latest satellite tracking software on our station computers to provide satellite pass predictions that enables our members the best chance to undertake satellite operations.

We provide full training on the use of this equipment to all of our licensed members.

The Society is keen to encourage the use of this equipment by our members and we aim to promote station operational nights using the Societies call sign GB2NSC to help promote the NSCARS and our activities at the National Space Centre in Leicester.

Meeting times

Members meet at the National Space Centre on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the Month at 19.00hrs
