About our club

Background

We have a permanently fitted radio shack with equipment for most bands, although there is a tendency for more VHF/UHF and SHF work. The clubs callsigns, G3OHM and G8OHM, being in regular use mainly on the RSGB UKAC weekly contests.

At present we have about 40 members.
We are very active in contests and take part in them weekly and have been reasonably successful.

Throughout the year the RSGB have special events where we would try to participate in at least 3 2 of which are from the top of a local'ish hill.

We visit several radio and electronic rallies during the year to sell our surplus equipment to help run the club, we also regularly use Ebay for good quality specialist sales.

Training for the various classes of licence is carried out by G8OWL

We have just received our 50 years award from the RSGB.
