About our club

Background

We have recently celebrated our 50th Anniversary.
Our regular monthly meeting is at the Aboyne Lodge School, social and other events at other venues.
We have a permanent hill-top site suitable for contests and 'plug and play' radio.
We run Amateur Licence Courses and run joint events with other clubs.

We WELCOME BEGINNERS, and anybody else interested in amateur radio. Do come along to meet us or attend a particular talk that takes your interest.

Club callsigns are G3VER, G4VER & G8VER plus special contest call (selected contests) G3V.

THE CLUB HAS ON-AIR NETS ON TUESDAY EVENINGS AND SUNDAY AFTERNOONS AS FOLLOWS. GUESTS ARE VERY WELCOME JUST CALL IN WITH YOUR CALLSIGN.

MONTHLY MEETINGS at held at the Aboyne Lodge School. Etna Road St. Albans. At the North East end of the main St.Albans shopping street (St Peters Street), there is a roundabout where the Hatfield road (A1057) from the EAST and Catherine Street (A4147) from the WEST cross St Peters Street (A1081). Take Catherine Street (A4147), then after about 200 metres on your left take Etna Road. This has a one way traffic system.
