Hi I am Nicky (M5YLO) I have been a radio ham for 8yrs now, I have one son who is a musician. My husband Tony is licensed also, he was the one who got me into radio, we have been out on field days, Scouts events, I chase islands (iota) and lighthouses, We went up to Shetland and put the lighthouse on the air at Sumburgh head 2 years ago. I am in the Blackmore vale amateur radio club, which is 9 miles away from my home. I am the only lady there but the men look after me very well. We also visit the other radio clubs in our area, so I have made many friends. I am also in BYLARA, Where on rally days I meet up with some of the other ladies so I can have a good chat, I usually loose my voice ( hi hi). I live under a big hill so beam ants are not good instead we have a vertical antenna & g5rv. Our QTH is in the south west of England 25 miles from the cost of Bournmouth.,I am looking forward to going to the Falklands & being part of the all ladies team.
