My name is Unni, call LA6RHA and I live alone a bit outside Oslo on the east side of Oslo fjord. I have a son and two granchildren living in Oslo. I have always been very interested in all technical things even being a lady. Took my pilot's licence in 1986 and my radioamateur licence in 1990. Went into the armed forces/signal corps in Norway in 1993 as an instructur and been there for 15 years at a rank of sergeant. Being a radioamateur really helps you when instructing the soldiers. Worked volountarely with rescue units in Norway, Denmark and United Kingdom - military and civilian with exercises for them and doing what is called "casualty make-up" which is making up people to look injuired in different ways. Done this for UN troops in Norway and Denmark for those being deployed to Bosnia, Kosovo and Iraq. I am also a member of the well recognized charity group in the United Kingdom - "Casualties Union" after studying in Norway on my own for 7 months and taking exams in anatomy, first aid, acting, staging and casualty make-up at a group in Ipswich in UK. This allowing me to participate in exercises in United Kingdom to which I have done several time. Love travelling and per today I have passed my 70th country visited. Thus it was firstly after taking radio licence in 1990, I could really take advantage of both my hobbies - travelling and radio. Below you can see what special calls and countries I have had the opportunity to work radio from during the 18 years I have been a radio amateur: Morokulien LG5LG/SJ9WL England, Wales, Scotland and Northern lreland (Belfast) Republic of Ireland Orkney Island BY1PK Beijing in 'China Svalbard JW6RHA 16 times Jan Mayen JX6RHA Sardegna, Sicilly and Corsica (2 meter and HF) United Arab Emirates A61AC South Africa on 2 meter Tanzania (when climbing Kilimanjaro - Africa's highest mountain) HF Zanzibar HF Most of the European countries on 2 meter.
